Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick

Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion #14 £24

I’ve worn the same Rimmel red lipstick for the past two or so years and I know the colour wasn’t a hundred percent perfect for my skin tone (Retro #220). I have meant to get my colours checked at a beauty counter for a while now but have just not got around to it until the other day. I ended up chatting to the lady at the Chanel counter (they are always so lovely) and before I knew it she had swatches out and I was having my make up done. She recommended the colour ‘Passion’. Apparently I have quite a neutral skin tone so I could get away with a blue, orange or pink based red lipstick (maybe the Rimmel colour was okay after all) however ‘Passion' has the perfect mix of all three which means you can wear anything and don’t have to worry about clashing. This all sounded perfect to me however with a £24 price tag I was still unsure.

The darker the colour of lipstick the higher the maintenance, however the best thing to do is to let it wear naturally and then reapply every 3 hours or so. This is one of the advantages of spending a little more on make up, you have the guarantee that they will actually work. All the Chanel lipsticks are long lasting and with added shea butter keep your lips moisturised. I was gradually being persuaded and with a few additional samples I was sold although the assistant apologised as I’m so pale the majority of their foundation will be way too orange for me *sob*.

I wore my new lipstick with this outfit.
