No pleasure, no expressions just an illusion of what should of but wasn't.

This week was weird but glad everything is sorted now, these are two old favourite of mine. Everybody loves Mr Rice.

Your intellect may be confused, but your emotions will never lie to you.

carry your heart with me
i carry it in my heart

i am never without it
anywhere i go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling

i fear no fate
for you are my fate, my sweet
i want no world
for beautiful you are my world, my true

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root
and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart
i carry it in my heart

E. E. Cummings

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I've always loved birds, I think it started when I was about five and my nan always used to buy me owl things and it's just continued from there. So I was happy when I bought my swallow blouse from Primark, the Miu Miu prints filtering through to the high street, however I'm not liking how they've suddenly mass produced lots. Nothing really significant is going on at the moment, few home issues but going for a shopping trip tomorrow and to a vintage fair on saturday so tis all good. Used my new 75 - 300 lens yesterday, it is beautiful. Definitely not liking the grotty weather though, hurry up summer.

One day you will be cool.

Forgot how much I love this film ' This is a house of lies! '

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

So had a nice shopping trip today, I only spent £15 altogether and managed to get a pure lambs wool cardigan, silk with velvet patterned blouse, cotton jeans which I've turned into high waisted shorts (all pictured above) I also got a silk scarf and a huge pretty granny one. A fairy successful day, I must say. Plus me and Lucy may have jobs! Well, not exactly jobs but the lady in the Heart Foundation  asked if we would design the window for her and dress the mannequins, this will be amazing for my cv and the textiles / fashion part of my art foundation next year.

Whimsical is my new favourite word.

Ooh I love getting parcels in the post, my dress for the founders service came today. It was ridiculously big though so hoping the grandmother will be able to take it in okay. Thought it was nice and summery and perfect for a church service, the lace is pretty too. Had my first psychology exam yesterday so nice to get that out the way and also planning a shopping trip to bath with some of my friends from media. Be good to check out the charity shops over there as the majority of people are posh (keeping my eyes open for a tweed blazer) and we can chill by the river, have lunch in cute cafes, and visit art galleries and antique shops.

Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.

I am ridiculously bored of revision now and I'm definitely doomed to fail. My photography deadlines tomorrow too and I don't have a final piece helppp! Oh what it is to be a student. Having these in my wardrobe would definitely make my life a tiny bit better. I got my first pair of loafers about four years ago in camden market and they're still around (bar the little flappy bit at the front). I do like it when things come into fashion that have been around for decades and it's even funnier when people buy things just because it's in Topshop and Look magazine, or read Vogue because it's 'cool' and everyone who likes fashion does. I am in a very cynical mood today. Ooh and I got to wear my new tortoiseshell wayfarers for the first time yesterday which was very exciting (that's how sad my life is at the moment).  I'm still doing my dreaded EPQ but kinda happy now that it's drifting away from the 3000 word essay on the ethics of journalism and more towards a creative portfolio. However I did find this article very interesting, thought it was ironic I have only just seen it now, may have give me a bit more enthusiasm.

* I finally got these for Christmas 2011 !

Look around you and fall in love with tiny details.

I think I'm actually in love with this image, when I saw it I was instantly reminded of my shoot with Josh, however mine seems so awful compared to this. Alex Stoddard creates some amazing self portraiture or you can go on his flickr. I have previously attempted a project 365 however it was not successful at all! I just have no time, but when I finish my a levels it will definitely be one of my priorities. I've also just discovered Jamie Baker, I was having a browse at his Bestival stuff (I will most definitely be going this year!) when I came across his 'Runaway Tears' shoot, the lighting is amazing!

Adverts are the cave art of the twenty first century.

So I spent the day with my mum today, as I don't live with her we don't see each other as much as we should but we do try and have regular coffee's and catch ups. Today we went to a little town nearby and had a mooch around, my new years wardrobe detox is changing slightly. I've decided it is fine to buy clothes as long as they are second hard, recycled, thrifted etc. Thats my excuse so I could buy this cute hand knitted cream sweater and lilac granny blouse from a charity shop. This is the coffee shop we were in, there were lots of antique leather sofas and little wooden tables. This bag is borrowed from my friend Evie, it was her mums back in the day. We're going to see Katy Perry in march:) and it's in London so we can have a lovely day out before hand. Thought this photo was relevant as it was taken in her kitchen.

The man who never makes a mistake always takes orders from one who does.

So I was just reading some articles and catching up on some of my regular blogs when I came across this. I would love to be a fashion photographer but realistically I know there is a high unlikely-hood that it will happen however this article has made me more determined to succeed and while I was reading this I came across Waldemar Hansson - my new favourite photographer. Anyway I am off shopping with my mother but I will leave you with some of Hansson's gorgeous images.

Ooh I won a prize.

Spring Clean.

So trying to save my mac, she's getting very slow and sluggish but while I was doing that came across all these beauties - lots of blogs I used to follow and other sites and interesting things. So thought I would do a top ten before I delete them all. Also came across this urban outfitters top which costs something stupid like £40 so when I started my art foundation I plan to print some similar, or maybe a "The Cure" series? hmm, they are my favourite band of all time<3

Number One.
Stereomood I haven't been on here for yonkksss, but it's nice if you want to have a listen to some different music and perfect if you want to match it to your mood (has anyone actually heard of a mood called balkankan? I'm yet too)
Number Two.
Hahaaa this was bookmarked, slighty relevant right now.
Number Three.
Thought these sky pictures were really pretty, very similar to a lot of national geographic stuff and they reminded me of India. We were in a valley one night and most have been the most beautiful stars I have ever seen, lots of shooting ones and we could see lots of planets and the moon (I'm not too good at physics so I can't remember which ones)
Number Four.
Street artists. Makes me laugh how Banksy is the only one most people have heard of, of course he is from Bristol;D. My favourite out of this top ten is definitely Hyuro, I have a lot of respect for graffiti artists, having a lot of friends who participate however I prefer the more art based designs to tags or graphics based ideas.

Number Five.
weheartit. The name says it all. The image on the right is one example of the kind of thing that is on there.
Number Six.
This is one of my best friend's tumblr'. I am in love with this picture of her and she is just generally lovely and funny and nice.
Number Seven.
These are my two favourite blogs which I read religiously, they contrast with each other quite a lot but I like it :) galadarling and cupcakesandcashmere.
Number Eight.
Rokit is definitely my favourite clothing website at the moment, on my vintage wish list right now is a silk blouse and denim high waisted shorts but I would mind some pretty scarves or granny bags.

Should really go and do some revision so will quickly put the two blogs I have chosen for number nine and number ten.

Faceless Fashion.

I think I'm going to keep this as the theme in my fashion photography finals for my coursework. I do feel quite strongly about this idea, only people can pull of clothes, without the character and personality behind an item, it is only fabric.

I could promise you the world.

It really has snowed lots in England this year, so much for global warming, this is an image from a shoot my friend did during one of our photography lessons. I just came across the images while listening to The XX, this is definitely my favourite album at the moment but I'm starting to over listen to them so I guess I'll probably hate it this time next week.

I definitely buy too many magazines.

Now I'm 18 I'm planning what tattoo I will get first (one of my dads girlfriends was going to get me one for my 16th birthday but he didn't like that idea). I was thinking either a tiny swallow on my left wrist or a fairy wing behind my right ear. I also looooove this drawing of an eye, for my art foundation next year we need to show an example of drawing, this makes me want to cry as I'm very creative but when it comes to still life or observational drawings I could be compared to a five year old with a crayon. My main new years resolution is to become less materialistic and more thoughtful with purchases etc (Im considering become a buddhist and they have a very similar philosophy) So my current plan is to reinvent my wardrobe with a sewing machine and trips to hobby craft and charity / thrift shops.

Hello 2011.

This year I started using a blog for my photography coursework but I kept putting off making a personal one (exams etc were the most common excuses). Sooo here we are, I'm the kind of person that either talks complete rubbish or is overly shy and quiet so this will be a mixture of my photography, art, fashion and general inspirations, ideas or just ramblings. I'm in love with vintage and granny style clothing (cliche for bloggers I know but it's true - having a nice shopping trip with the mother on the weekend) and love pretty quirky and interesting objects (like my Bristol Navy Cut tobacco tin which my dads old friend gave me). My friends either love or hate what I wear, I think the same goes for music and most aspects of my life. I guess people think I'm big headed and vain but actually I'm very insecure, I just like fashion and taking pictures.
